A stranger’s smile is the most cheerful welcome one can receive in a foreign country. This Scottish lady shared warm smiles, a pleasant conversation and helped us pick the nicest hat. What we loved most was her authenticity - there was no attempt to please us, and she was frank enough to share her brief story. We’ll take that! And wouldn’t you?
Art museums, generally speaking, are not something I seek out when I'm traveling.
I have to be honest that, most of the time, I don't really 'get' art, especially modern art. I also find museums overwhelming. Big, huge, white rooms with little pictures stuck here and there, where do I look?!?
I do love galleries though, small intimate spaces which are so much less overwhelming, especially photo galleries.
This is the outside of the Pompidou centre in Paris, I found the construction of the museum, with its color coded exoskeleton, more intriguing than the art it housed.
Do you like museums? Or do you prefer something similar but different?
